EV Charging Cabinets for Vietnam: Outdoor Sheet Metal Enclosures for Charging Stations

TROPICAL CLIMATE EV ENCLOSURES

Deploying EV charging infrastructure in Vietnam means battling intense solar radiation, torrential monsoon rains, and high humidity. Off-the-shelf boxes will rust and overheat quickly. MSTFAB manufactures custom bare metal EV enclosure shells with specialized dual-wall solar baffles, heavy anti-corrosion powder coating, and rainproof louver vents.

Combating the Monsoon: Metal & Finish

A standard powder coat over cold-rolled steel will peel within months in a high-humidity tropical environment. We upgrade the base materials and the finishing process to ensure a 10+ year lifespan.

Galvanized Steel or Aluminum

For Southeast Asian deployments, we strongly recommend fabricating the shell from SGCC (Galvanized Steel) or 5052 Marine-Grade Aluminum. These base metals inherently resist the rapid oxidation caused by constant humidity.

Outdoor UV-Resistant Powder Coating

We apply a thick layer (80-120 microns) of specialized outdoor-grade polyester powder coating. This prevents the color from chalking or fading under the intense Vietnamese sun while sealing the metal against moisture.

Sloped Roof Design

Flat roofs gather pooling water, which eventually finds a way past gaskets. We CNC bend all roof panels with a steep 10° to 15° slope, ensuring torrential monsoon rains sheet off the enclosure instantly.

NEMA 4 / IP65 Sealing

We fully TIG weld all external seams and apply seamless CNC poured polyurethane (PU) foam gaskets to all access doors, ensuring the bare metal shell can withstand direct jets of water.

Passive Cooling for Tropical Heat

1. Dual-Wall Solar BafflesDirect sunlight turns metal boxes into ovens. We fabricate an external sheet metal skin offset by a 20mm air gap. This “sun shield” absorbs the UV rays and channels the heat upwards, away from your sensitive electronics.
2. Rainproof Louver Vents (Gills)To allow exhaust fans to expel heat, we use CNC punch presses to stamp downward-facing louver vents. These gills allow massive airflow out while physically blocking driving rain from entering.
3. Filter Retainer BracketsTropical environments are often dusty. We weld internal slide-in brackets directly behind the louvers, allowing your maintenance teams to easily replace washable air filters without unscrewing the main panels.
4. Plinth Drainage HolesCondensation is unavoidable in high humidity. We laser-cut specific drainage ports in the bottom plinth, allowing any internal moisture to safely drip out of the cabinet.
