Precision CNC Machining Services for OEM Metal Parts

CNC machined parts should not arrive as expensive mystery objects. MSTFAB reviews drawings, material, tolerance, finish, inspection and packing before quoting, so buyers know what will actually be manufactured.

Buyer Confidence

What professional buyers need from a CNC machining supplier.

A cheap CNC quote is not helpful if the material is vague, the tolerance is assumed, or the finish shows up looking like it lost a fight with the carton. We make the quote easier to trust by defining the manufacturing route up front.

Drawing-based reviewSTEP, STP, PDF and critical dimensions are checked before production assumptions become expensive.
Material confirmationAluminum, stainless, steel and brass grades are clarified before price and lead time are promised.
Inspection planFAI, CMM, thread checks and surface checks can be defined for buyer-critical features.
Export packingSmall machined parts, shafts and cosmetic surfaces are packed for overseas transport, not just a short ride across town.

Capabilities Matrix

CNC machining scope for real OEM production.

Final capability depends on material, geometry, datum structure, surface finish, batch size and inspection requirement. The point is not to promise magic; it is to quote a part that can actually be made and repeated.

Milling

3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling

Complex blocks, housings, plates, brackets, slots and pockets for aluminum, stainless steel and other metals.

Turning

Shafts, bushings and fittings

Round parts with threads, grooves, bores and concentric features produced on CNC lathes.

Materials

Aluminum, stainless, steel and brass

Material grade and heat treatment are confirmed before machining strategy and quote approval.

Tolerance

Critical dimensions called out clearly

Tight tolerances are focused on fit and function, not sprinkled across the drawing like expensive confetti.

Finish

Anodizing, passivation and polishing support

Surface finish is planned around appearance, corrosion, masking, threads and assembly fit.

Batch Support

Prototype to repeat production

Small validation runs and repeat OEM batches are supported with clear revision and inspection control.

Illustrative scene. Fit and inspection checks are agreed against your drawings and order requirements.

A small machined part can determine whether a finished enclosure assembles cleanly. Our team reviews the mating features in your files before the machining route, inspection points and finishing requirements are agreed.

  • Fit-critical details reviewed early

Datums, hole patterns, threads and clearances are checked against the enclosure interface, so the RFQ captures what matters to assembly.

  • Inspection scope agreed for each order

The drawing package and order requirements define critical dimensions, first-article checks and protection of finished faces.

Trust Table

How we reduce CNC sourcing risk before the PO.

A serious CNC quote should tell you what is included, what is assumed and where inspection happens. If the quote is just a number, congratulations: you bought a guessing game.

Buyer concernWhat MSTFAB checksWhy it matters
Material substitutionGrade, certificate need and finish compatibility.Prevents cheaper material quietly becoming your quality problem.
Tolerance driftCritical dimensions, datums, inspection method and sample approval.Protects fit, function and repeatability across batches.
Finish mismatchAnodizing, polishing, brushing, passivation or plating notes.Controls appearance, corrosion and masking risk.
Assembly failureThread depth, hole position, mating faces and burr control.Stops small features from causing big rework.

Process

A clean CNC machining workflow for buyer drawings.

The workflow is simple on purpose: clarify the drawing, machine the right features, inspect the risky dimensions, protect the parts, then ship them like they matter.

1

RFQ review

We check drawings, material, quantity, tolerances, finish, threads and inspection notes.

2

Machining plan

CAM setup, tooling, fixtures and datum strategy are prepared for the part geometry.

3

Inspection

First article and critical dimensions are checked before batch release.

4

Finish and packing

Parts move to finishing, cleaning, labeling and export packing as required.

RFQ Package

Send enough detail once. Avoid five rounds of quote ping-pong.

For an accurate quote, send your 3D model, 2D drawing, material grade, quantity, surface finish, tolerance notes and any inspection or packing requirements. If a feature is critical, mark it. If it is cosmetic, say that too.

FAQ

CNC machining questions buyers ask before RFQ.

Short answers, because nobody needs a novel before sending a STEP file.

What CNC machining services does MSTFAB support?

CNC milling, CNC turning, multi-axis machining, drilling, tapping, deburring, finishing coordination and dimensional inspection for custom metal parts.

Do you make finished equipment?

No. MSTFAB supplies custom machined parts and metal fabrication parts. We do not supply finished machines, electronics, proprietary equipment or complete consumer products.

What files should I send for quotation?

Send STEP or STP files, 2D PDF drawings with critical dimensions, material grade, quantity, finish, tolerance notes and inspection requirements.

How can I reduce CNC machining cost?

Loosen non-critical tolerances, avoid unnecessary cosmetic finishes, choose standard material, mark only true critical dimensions and consolidate order volume where possible.

CNC machining buyer checks

Make the drawing, inspection and delivery scope visible.

For machined parts that must fit a sheet-metal enclosure or assembly, the approved drawing should lead every decision. These checks help buyers define the RFQ scope and the evidence to request.

01Drawing revision and assembly fit

Send a STEP/STP model and controlled 2D PDF drawing. Mark datums, mating faces, hole patterns, threads and fit-critical dimensions. DXF/DWG files can support profile details when needed.

02Machining route and material

Confirm the material grade and features that need milling or turning. Ambiguous notes, inaccessible features and proposed substitutions should be resolved against the actual drawing before quotation.

03Agreed inspection evidence

Identify the dimensions, threads and mating features that need checking. Agree on any sample, first-article record or fit check in the order requirements; inspection scope is project-specific.

04Finish and packing handoff

Specify cosmetic faces, finish and areas to protect. Selected finishing may be completed by a long-term partner; MSTFAB coordinates the approved requirements and protective packing scope.
